Hello everyone! I’ve missed you so much but life has been busy and school is about to start, but I am back and better than ever.
Today, I want to to talk about a drugstore face mask – specifically from CVS (a drugstore). Usually, I find my way into CVS to find new makeup products and peruse the snack aisle. A couple months ago, I was looking through the skin care section and found a line of CVS made face masks.
I love trying out new skin care products, masks especially. Usually, face masks are on the more expensive side of skin care products so I was surprised, and skeptical, to find one that was only $3.00.
Out of the three or four $3.00 masks they had, I decided to pick up the “Dead Sea Minerals” mask.
The packaging is quite simple but it’s very effective for what it needs to do. The product is in a squeezy-tube which makes it very hygienic to use and you can squeeze every little bit of product out. The cap screws on nicely and makes sure that the product itself does not dry out.
The front of the packaging gives a summary of what this face mask does: “Anti-stress clay facial mask. Smoothes skin and deep cleans pores. For all skin types.” This description is what made me choose this product over the other face mask options! I am a stressed out college student so if a mask tells me that it will take my stress away, I am all for it. This mask is also 6 fluid ounces (177 mL) which is a hefty amount and will last you a long time!
The back of the packaging gives you directions on how to apply and use the mask as well as the ingredients. This product is also not tested on animals – yay! Additionally, the product itself lasts for 36 months, so you can use it for a long time. The only downside to this, is that there are probably ingredients inside the mask to make the product last longer.
The product is a nice blue clay mask. The consistency is thick and it applies easily on the skin. At first, the mask can apply a bit thin so if you like having thicker masks, it’s important to layer. The product has a slight fragrance, it smells kind of like laundry, but it is not strong and will not bother you if you are sensitive to scents.
Leave the mask on your face for 5-10 minutes and wash it off with warm water. The mask isn’t hard to wash off, like other clay masks I have used in the past. After rinsing the mask off, my face feels “minty-fresh.” You know, like after you bite into a minty piece of gum? Not sure if I’m explaining this right…
Overall, I like this mask! I have seen results over the last few months of using this product. Now, it took a while to start seeing some visible results and this is definitely not a mask that works right away. If you’re looking for a face mask where you can see results right after you use it, I would recommend saving up for higher quality skin care like Glam Glow.
For the price, though, this mask is definitely worth it! I give it a 7.5/10. This is a fun mask to use with your friends when you’re relaxing with a glass of wine.
What do you think of this mask? What drugstore masks do you recommend? Let me know!
